PICC Line Blood Draw

Removed line extension tubing so blood draw can be done directly close to the source. Flushed line with 10 ml NS, drew 10 ml of blood as waste, then drew blood specimen for (list test(s) here). Flushed line with 20 ml NS post-blood draw, replaced with new, primed, injection cap and extension tubing, then

5 ml Heparin as last flush. Labeled specimen tubes with patient name, date of birth and today's draw date.
